An Indian Contemporary Artist, Sai recently won the Outstanding Watercolor Award at the Boldbrush Contest. An engineer from IIT Bombay, Sai believes in the pursuit of dreams and living life to the fullest. Consequently, she rekindled her love for the arts and is now a full time artist.
Sai has exhibited in India (Mumbai, Bangalore, Chandigarh) & Internationally (NY, PA-USA,Taipei-Taiwan, Toronto-Canada, Kuala Lumpur-Malaysia, Myanmar), and is part of several Art Associations (National Watercolour Society, USA, International Watercolour Society, Philadelphia Watercolour Society, lifetime member Art Society of India). Born & brought up in Chandigarh, the city beautiful, she paints with watercolours, acrylics, oils & charcoal alluding to impressionism & realism. "To me, art isn’t just mastery of technique an skill, it’s something that you can connect to, like having found a close friend. Every subject that I choose, every painting that I make, comes from a place of personal expression. Reading a good book or listening to soulful music can serve as nothing short of a cathartic experience. I aspire to make my work have this same quality, of: moving people, making them re-experience emotions without inhibitions, & taking them to a different world altogether where they can feel the entirety of their emotions." This project is at the intersection of what you see & what your mind perceives, the memories it evokes, the visuals that flash in front of your eyes, the sounds that play in your ears, the emotions you experience all over again or the reality it takes you to when you look at it deeply. Everything doesn't need to exist for a reason but when art evokes feelings or emotions, it has made a difference in the life of its audience it has fulfilled its objective
