The work was inspired by the energy and power of the landscape and the process of painting. I hope the viewer will feel the power and energy of the landscape through the painting in terms of its mark making and scale. I have built up layers of oil primed geometric shapes on top of sized canvas emulating elements of architecture and followed this with a massive brush stroke using diluted acrylic. I have then layered oil paint stains, spray paint and marker pen architectural lines to create an abstract expressive feel with a romantic atmosphere.
